The Friday Forecast
THE WEEK OF September 5-9, 2022
The first annual Mustang Corral Summer Fest was a hit!
Last Friday, The Mustang Corral Summer Fest provided great music, food, and a chance for the Walnut community to come together and kick off the school year! We raised $25,000 directly to our clubs, athletic programs, and performing arts groups to start the year off with money in their account!
Thank you to Walnut High Community Club for making this all come together & Walnut High School ASB for planning a rally to showcase our school!
Check out the recap video below, edited by Sophomore - Deandra Meza.

WALNUT VALLEY Alumni ENDOWMENT
There was a recent e-mail and mailer from the Walnut Valley Endowment asking for alumni contact and data information. This is a non-profit organization we are working with to gather a database of alumni information that will help improve alumni connection, correspondence, and ways to support Walnut High School. This is completely optional and you can respond only if you feel comfortable in doing so. We apologize if this e-mail caused any confusion or seemed like a phishing attempt.
For more information on the Walnut Valley Endowment visit our website or PLEASE CLICK HERE to learn more.

STUDENT PARKING
- Complete Student Parking Application
- Download California Driver's License
- Download evidence of vehicle insurance coverage with student listed as insured driver
Once the Parking Application is completed stickers will be issued by Mrs. Markel at the Assistant Principal's office. If you had a parking decal last year, you MUST complete the form again this year and replace your old sticker. You must have this on your car before parking in our lot on the first day of school. WVUSD is NOT responsible for any damage or theft of the vehicle, this includes any articles left in it.
1st and 2nd notices are being placed on student cars that DO NOT have a parking permit. Failure to obtain this permit will result in a referral to their GLC, loss of student lot parking privilege and a possible parking citation. Please stress to your students the importance of completing this task.
SCHOOL LUNCH POLICY
Due to many problems and safety issues we DO NOT allow student lunches to be delivered anywhere on campus.
Food, drinks or other items are NOT to be passed to students through the fence. This is strictly prohibited.
Outside Food Delivery Services such as UBER Eats/Door Dash is strictly prohibited. Food will be confiscated if deliveries are dropped off.
We understand the importance of student nutrition but we encourage students to either use the free lunch at school or bring their lunch from home.

STUDENT CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS
ATTENDANCE COUNTS!
Please remember that attendance counts, every period, every day. Students will be marked absent if they are not at the beginning of each period to verify their attendance.
All single-period absences will need to be reconciled through the attendance office by the student. If marked absent, students will receive an email from the attendance office notifying them that they have been marked absent. The notification will include the date and period of the absence. The student will need to contact the Attendance Department to make any necessary corrections to their individual period attendance. For full-day absences, a parent/guardian must contact the attendance office by the end of the day.
