At Coleman MS we have a collective commitment to the success of each and every student!

As part of that commitment, we have launched CATS time at Coleman MS this week. We started with Reading assistance, and we will start Math assistance on Monday. We will be monitoring progress so that students can move between assistance, review, and enrichment according to their progress.

As a reminder, CATS, or Challenging All To Succeed, is a 20 minute-time on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays, after Morning Meetings, for all students to engage in academic assistance, review, and/or enrichment with web-based technology platforms and with their teacher. CATS will take place in homeroom with the homeroom teacher, so there won't be any impact on the student's schedule. CATS is part of our school 2022-2023 plan for improvement.

If a student has been selected to start receiving Math assistance you should have received a letter and an email with more information.

Please do not hesitate to reach out to your student's grade level Assistant Principals if you have any questions.

We have been given an opportunity for various Vaccine Clinics by the Department of Health this month to get 7th graders up to date on their vaccines. These clinics are open to anyone needing the grade required vaccines!

This is part of a school project for Dr. Dement' class and Sarah will have the proceeds going to support housing in Gwinnett.

As part of a school project for Dr. Dement' class, Taylor will be selling jewelry designed by her on Wednesday, November 16 to have the proceeds going to support Coleman MS Arts Integration. Students can see Taylor's posters around the school for more information.

Girls on the Run 5K registration for Running Buddies and community participants will open later this month, and stay tuned for an announcement on the new 5K location!

The 21st annual Metropolitan North Georgia Water Planning District Middle School Essay Contest is now open. Sixth, seventh, and eighth graders in Bartow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Forsyth, Fulton, Gwinnett, Hall, Henry, Paulding and Rockdale counties are invited to participate in the annual essay contest. • We do not provide supervision once students are off campus.

The School Nutrition Program will now transition to pre-pandemic operations. Meals are no longer available at no charge to all students.

The public may review proposed standards online, offering feedback on AKS that have been developed to align the curriculum with the Georgia Standards of Excellence (GSE) and/or Georgia Performance Standards (GPS).
