Message from the Head of School
Dear Parents/Carers
I have frequently written to parents this year to comment on how kind, considerate and respectful the pupils are at HJS. The ethos and values of the school are a golden thread through our practice and we, as staff, model these behaviours daily. Please can I remind all parents to show the same level of respect to my staff. They all work incredibly hard, doing the very best they can for your children. Our Bee rules are relevant to the pupils, staff and parents and I would request that you ensure these rules are respected - thank you.
Due to current staffing levels in the admin team, we will be closing the phone lines each day between 12.15pm and 1.15pm. During this time, parents will be able to leave messages on the answer phone and the office email will still be monitored.
Thank you for your understanding and I hope we can work as a strong community to continue to build our lovely school.
Mr Jon James

Messages from the Office
Medical/Dental appointments.
We are having an increasing number of children being taken out during the day for medical/dental appointments. It is not only disruptive to your child's learning but it also disrupts the office as they have to collect the children from class. As per our attendance policy (see below) medical/dental appointments should be arranged after school hours.
If you do need to take your child out of school to attend an emergency appointment, please ensure you give the office sufficient notice and supply them with a copy of your appointment notification. We would also request that your refrain from collecting your child during break times or lunch time as it is particularly difficult to find your child during these times.
Parent/Carer Consultation Meetings
A letter was sent out this week with details of the dates and timings of the parent consultations later this month. Please ensure that you sign up to either a virtual or in person appointment (via the below button).
Water bottles/ snack /lunch boxes / after school items
Please can you ensure your child comes to school with everything they need for the day (water bottle, lunch box, after school clubwear). The office are happy to pass on any item received into the office before 10am in the morning but after this time they will not be taken to the class room and your child will need to collect them from the office which may be at the end of the day
