WMS | LLC Update

#2: November 27, 2023

Starting this week, Denise and I will be undertaking a rather massive task - making the collection much easier to navigate for kids & staff alike!

By the time we leave for the holiday recess, our books in the fiction section will be organized into the following genres (plus perhaps a few more):

• Action/Adventure
• Fantasy
• Historical Fiction
• Humor
• Graphic Novels (already done)
• Mystery/Suspense
• Realistic Fiction
• Science Fiction
• Thriller/Horror

We already have our picture books lower level non-fiction/Dewey books pulled into an Everybody section near the front of the LLC; furthermore, we will also be gathering up the lower level chapter books most often used by SpEd & ELL into a section so they don't get lost in our main collection (name of section TBD - ideas are welcome!). These will ultimately be located near the small (but growing!) section of foreign language books.

If you have any questions about the process, or why we are doing this, please don't hesitate to ask... and, in the meantime, please excuse the mess!

It is the social contract that this quarter's Digital & Media Literacy classes have created, and it is so good that we'll use it in the LLC for this year as well!
