What's Up Next?
Welcome Back Parents!
We have had an exciting start to this school year and looking forward to more great days ahead! Please take the time to read through the parent packets that were sent home with students the first day of school and return required documents to your child's homeroom teacher. We also encourage you to make sure the school is updated when your contact information may change. We look forward to a continued partnership with our our parents throughout the school year.
DCS is focused on making sure that all of our students achieve high academic success. We are committed to working with you (parents) on making sure that happens this year. So...Don't Stop Believing! We got this! We have some "Colorful Leaders that are Painting a Brighter Future" at Hillcrest Elementary School! Therefor, as we believe that early and ongoing engagement by family and community is critical to the success of every child, we want you to be committed in partnering with us in helping your child be successful. I'm looking foward to serving you and your child this year.

Habit #1 - Be Proactive
Habit of the Week: Habit #1 - Be Proactive
Let's have a can do attitude! Encourage your child to try their best at all times. They can do this by being good listeners and following directions, as well as doing the right thing without being asked, even when nobody is looking. We are in control of choosing our actions, attitudes, and moods. Therefore, we shouldn't blame others for our wrongdoing. Let's encourage our students to be more proactive so that they have better results in life.
Habit #1 Focus: I'm in charge of me!
Dress Code Reminders
- Sweat shirts and hoodies may be worn to school, but hoods cannot be worn inside of school/classroom.
- Leggings cannot be worn as "stand alone." They can be worn under a solid colored skirt/shorts.
- Jeans/Pants may not have any rips, holes, tears, or frays.
- Shoes must have a strap on the back of them. No Crocs allowed at school.
Please help us by making sure your child is appropriately dressed before coming to school each day.
