TVUSD Update

Temecula Valley Unified is committed to ensuring all students receive the academic, social, and emotional supports they need to learn, grow, and thrive. We will continue to meet the required COVID-19 mitigation measures to provide the safest possible in-school experience, based on evolving guidance and requirements from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) and the Riverside County Public Health (RivCoPH).

Based on currently published health rules, we can expect the following this fall...

• Schedules at all 27 school sites will include full-day in-person instruction for all students to learn.
• Lunch will be served on each campus. Breakfast programs will resume at Title 1 campuses. Clubs and athletics will continue. Music, art, PE, elective courses, etc., will be offered on campuses.
• Additional supports will be offered for ongoing mental and emotional needs.
• We will continue to offer K-12 independent study programs at the new K-8 Home INstead INnovation Academy and the 9-12 Susan H. Nelson Independent High School to serve students who choose to learn remotely.
• Start and end times will return to the pre-pandemic bell schedules.

TVUSD is committed to not implementing any measures beyond what is required of us. Current county and state public health orders are requiring that we provide the following:

1. Daily symptom and temperature screening of students and staff, requiring parents/students and staff to indicate they are symptom-free and fever-free each day of attendance.

2. Contact tracing and close contact exposure screening. Students who are placed on quarantine/extended illness will receive independent study assignments.

3. Face coverings while indoors at school sites. At this time, CDPH has stated that all students, staff, and visitors will need to wear masks while indoors. This is regardless of vaccination status. Per CDPH, face coverings will not be required when outdoors.

4. Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for staff members, as required by job classification.

5. Hand sanitizing stations and signage throughout each campus, and universal handwashing and hand sanitizing protocols at all levels and on all campuses.

6. Daily cleaning and sanitizing of classrooms and common spaces.

7. Plexiglass barriers will be available for use when requested by staff, parents, or students.

8. Filters will be replaced on a schedule, per manufacturer instructions.

Please keep in mind that these are the current, required mitigation measures by the California Department of Public Health. As we have seen throughout the pandemic, they could change. We are monitoring the information daily and will keep you updated as new information or changes become available.
