Message from the Principal
August 11, 2023
Dear UAHS students and families,
I hope that you have had a wonderful summer. We are excited to begin the 2023-2024 school year next week. On Monday and Tuesday, we will be welcoming back our teachers and staff members to begin preparing for the Class of 2027 on Wednesday and for the return of all of our students on Thursday.
Upper Arlington Schools exists to challenge and support every student with the ultimate goal of preparing them to serve, to lead, and to be successful. The dawn of a new school year provides all students the opportunity to reconsider what success means to each individual and to make a commitment to the pursuit of that success with excitement and resiliency.
We cannot wait to welcome you to UAHS! Enjoy the remaining days of summer break.
Sincerely,
Andrew C. Theado
Principal

Student Schedules
It is important for students to adhere to the schedule outlined in PowerSchool, regardless of any prior schedule change requests. Once a requested change receives approval and is reflected in PowerSchool, students may begin attending the newly assigned class.
Early Release and Late Arrival
Students who have submitted requests for an Early Release or Late Arrival must attend Forum until the Early Release or Late Arrival has been awarded and appears in PowerSchool. This should happen after the first few weeks of the quarter.
Forms & Fees Reminder
Back-to-school forms and fees are due prior to the first day of the school year on August 16. If you have not yet completed your student’s forms or paid all available fees, please do so today by logging in to the PowerSchool Parent Portal and SPS EZpay. Please visit our back to school webpage for instructions on how to complete these steps.
If you wish to purchase the optional Technology Protection Plan, you must complete the technology form in PowerSchool AND pay the $25 fee in SPS EZpay before the first day of school for the 2023-2024 school year (August 16, 2022). If the $25 fee is not paid by the first day of school, the plan is void.
If payment of fees would present a hardship for your family, please reach out to your school counselor.
Parent Orientation
If you were unable to join us on August 11 for our parent orientation event, please consider watching this recording and following along with this slide deck.
General Information
Safety & Security
A sense of safety and security is essential when seeking to build connection and belonging in our community. The security of students and staff is a top priority, so as a community, we must be aware of the tools we have to report any potential incidents of bullying, harassment or intimidation. The Stay Safe, Speak Up! public hotline and app on all student iPads allow confidential reports of possible safety or bullying issues. For more, check out this poster.

iPad Information for the Start of the Year
During the second semester, all K-12 students and staff will be upgrading their current iPads for a newer model. Because of the district wide upgrade, we will not not be asking incoming 9th grade students to swap out their current device when school begins. We do not want them to make two swaps in one school year. New students will receive their devices during the first week of school from the Help Desk.
