Dear Art Rutkin Elementary Families,

I hope this letter finds you all enjoying the remaining days of summer and a break from the recent hot temperatures. We are busy getting ready for our teachers to start next week. Everyone is looking forward to bringing our community together for Back-To-School-Night on Aug. 28th, and a fun first day of school at Art Rutkin Elementary on Sept. 5th for 1st-5th grade. We will welcome our kindergarteners the following week on Sept. 11th. Our first school year is finally here! Please read this newsletter for all the details as we get started.

The first PSO meeting will take place on Sept. 12th at 6:00 PM in the school library. We are still in need of a PSO vice president. Please contact our PSO through the following email addresses.

The traditional Back to School Letter will be sent out next week! The district transportation department is busy working on schools' bus routes. We hope to have ours in time to include in next week's communication.

Schedule of Events:

4:30-6:30 Family Picnic -- Please bring a blanket & your family's picnic. PSO will be sponsoring Lawn Games and snacks. Kona Ice will be onsite as a PSO Fundraiser

4:30-5:15 Classrooms open for visits

5:15-5:45 Teacher break time

5:45-6:30 Classrooms open for visits

Representatives from PSO, Art Literacy, Scouts, Tigard Public Library and Club K will be onsite with information and to answer questions about their programs.

2023-2024 School Supply Lists are very minimal. We are supplying most classroom supplies. You can find the list by clicking the button below or can find it posted on our webpage.

Do you want to be a volunteer or be a field trip chaperone? Have you gone through TTSD's volunteer process? If not, please make sure to do so. Once cleared, you are good for 3 years. If there is even a slight chance your answer is yes, then please complete the steps. It's better to have clearance than not! Here is the link!

Art Rutkin Elementary is partnering with Club K for its after school care program. Club K recently hosted a virtual information night. Thank you to those that were able to join us. You can find the link to the recorded event here. More information about Club K can be found on their website.
