It's a Good Day in Pre-K
Congratulations Pre-K students!
Congrats!
Your little ones have accomplished an important milestone and will be graduating pre-school! This means they are only three months away from starting kindergarten, which is another significant accomplishment! You should be very proud of how far your child has come. They have persevered, established friendships and worked hard to learn new skills that will prepare them for kindergarten. I'd like to take this time to thank the teachers and teaching assistants who were integral in your child's successes this year. Lastly, thank you! We all appreciate your support with our Pre-K community and your children. Have a great summer!
Metamorphosis
In many of our classrooms students have been watching the transformation of caterpillars to butterflies. They have been eagerly watching and waiting for them to hatch. The transformation from caterpillar to butterfly is called metamorphosis. Metamorphosis is derived from two Greek words: meta meaning change and morphe meaning form. As I watched some classrooms release their butterflies into the world it reminded me of our Pre-K graduates. They too have gone through a metamorphosis of sorts and are now flapping their wings toward elementary school. Here is a picture of students in Mrs. Leganczuk's classroom, in Berlin, releasing their butterflies.
Summertime Practice
In a few weeks it is summer vacation for your kids. While they should use this time to play and make memories, here are some ideas to keep those brains fresh for kindergarten, but don't over do it, let them play! Also, don't forget your local libraries. There are often many activities for all ages over the summer.
Virtual Field Trips
If you are looking for extra activities for a rainy day, try a virtual field trip. From a visit to a watermelon farm, how to make ice cream, or to get a front row virtual trip on your favorite amusement park ride, take a look at some cool trips here!

To the Kids- From Mr. Mike
I am so proud of all of you! I remember coming in your classrooms back in September and watching you all try to figure out this thing called school. Since then you have become authors, artists, engineers, and thinkers, just to name a few. It's because of you that the title of my newsletter is "A Good Day in Pre-K." You are all amazing kids who will go on to do amazing things. Congratulations on your graduation and thank you for making every visit I have made, a "Good Day in Pre-K!"
-Mr. Mike
Happy Summer!
