Black History Month and Trivia!
Black History Month is a time to recognize, appreciate, and learn from the diverse and significant contributions of Black Americans throughout history. It's a chance to celebrate their achievements in art, science, politics, sports, and more. By studying the accomplishments and legacies of prominent Black figures, we can gain a better understanding of the rich tapestry of our nation's history and the ongoing fight for equality.
Did you know that Black History Month began as a week-long celebration in 1926? It was created by Dr. Carter G. Woodson, a historian and author, to honor the achievements and contributions of Black Americans throughout history. In 1976, Black History Month was officially recognized by the U.S. government and expanded to the entire month of February. Let's explore and learn some interesting trivia about Black History Month! Included in this newsletter is a Trivia Game for students and families to play and complete together! Submit this form with answers to the office for a prize! Good luck!
