Please submit a recent physical exam with vaccinations for your student on our “State of IL Certificate of Child Health Examination” form. This may be uploaded at any time from now until school starts in the Fall. A recent dental exam is also needed. Please make your appointments now, before slots become unavailable! CDM: Creative Dramatics & Movement classes, we are learning how to tell stories using the Actor’s Toolbox: Body, Mind, and Voice. Students also engage in playing a suite of theatre games, to develop concentration, communication, and collaboration skills. Class time allows for reflection and repetition to reinforce concepts. The 5th graders are currently designing tableaux and narrative skills in small groups. We will continue to build both improvisational and storytelling skills in the weeks to come. Ask your students to recite the Jabberwocky, to explain the design Rule of Three, and to describe some techniques that effective storytellers use.
