Climate and Culture
Ms. Kaenzig's AM and PM Kindergarten classes' Kindness challenge was for each student to give a classmate a compliment. They used their sight words "I like" and followed it with saying one kind word or statement to a classmate. They felt so great after boosting each other up!
Mrs. Lucia’s 1st grade class completed their Random Act of Kindness Challenge ! The whole class went to Mrs. Kaenzig’s Kindergarten and buddied up to read a story. Both classes did a wonderful job
Congratulations to Slaybaugh Elementary’s Game Changers of the Month for February. The character word was cooperation.
Forest Friends has started for our 1st graders! Forest Friends is a puppet based prevention program designed to help students learn skills in conflict resolution, decision-making and anger management. Each story helps children recognize common reactions to life situation. This program is also designed to help children learn basic life skills and character enhancement that they will use throughout their life.
We will be welcoming Forest Friends for the next 5 weeks on Mondays and Tuesdays. The first lesson this week is on feelings, next week will be on truth and trust.
Mrs. Schwegman’s class did an amazing job with their Random Act of Kindness Challenge! They were given the task of thanking the custodians for their hard work. The class said it best when they wrote “We DONUT know what we’d do without you”
Crazy hat day with these crazy kids!
