Dear LRE Families,

Our College and Career week at LRE was a huge success! A special thanks to Andrea Grant for coordinating this week as well as to all of the community members that came to participate in the career fair yesterday. This weekend please take time to ask your child what they learned about college and careers this week and if they have a plan for their future-it is never too early to start planning!

If you are a parent of a third, fourth or fifth grader you should have received a letter in your child’s folder sharing information about our upcoming SBA (smarter balanced assessment). While we still have a few weeks before we start testing on May 8th, we are asking families to write encouraging notes to their children and send them into school at this time. Another way you can help your child to prepare for these assessments is to talk to them about always giving their best, paying attention to detail, taking their time, and showing what they know. Now is the time to re-evaluate your child's evening and morning routines as well. We have attached the calendar dates for testing to this newsletter. Please make sure they are going to bed on time each night and are having a healthy breakfast and lunch. Our Thunder Eagles are ready and we know they will do their best!

Do you know a child who will be five years old on or before Aug. 31? Maybe it's your neighbor, friend or even your own child. Now’s the time to enroll kindergarten students for the 2023-24 school year. The sooner you enroll, the better we can keep you informed.

New immunization requirements

New requirements are in effect for students in preschool and kindergarten who are four years old or older on Sept. 1. Learn about the requirements, documentation, exceptions and more.

The Sumner-Bonney Lake School District has entered into a new partnership with Right At School, a nationally-recognized school enrichment provider for before- and after-school care for elementary-aged students at all of our elementary schools and the Sumner Early Learning Center starting with the 2023-24 school year. Registration for Right at School is now open.

About Right at School

Right at School provides families flexibility in enrollment options and a comprehensive enrichment curriculum to keep students engaged while they participate. Students will have a healthy snack, engage in dynamic fitness activities, student-driven projects, team building, leadership development, and have the opportunity to complete homework assignments.

• Open from 6:30 am to 6 pm

• Flexible schedules and pricing options

• Tuition discounts available

• Childcare available during breaks, non-school days, and summer
