Family Newsletter
Cleveland STEM High School
November 3, 2023
Hello Cleveland Families,
I am excited to share with you a new opportunity for our students to receive free therapy this school year: online, app-based therapy through Joon, a Seattle-based company that provides online therapeutic services for 13-24 year old clients. When students are signed up for services, they are matched with a therapist with expertise in their particular areas of need.
Some of their areas of expertise include: anxiety, addiction, body image, depression, disordered eating, family & relationships, gender/sexual identity, health management/changes, life transitions, LGBTIA+ individuals, motivation and goal setting, neurodevelopmental disorders, stress management, trauma/PTSD, and more.
Therapy sessions are live and virtual through the Joon Care app, and students can use the app to provide updates to their therapist in between sessions about how they are doing. Please note: the app is only available on iOS devices. If your student does not have access to an iPhone or iPad, please let me know and we will make sure that access to tech is not a barrier to your student receiving services.
If this sounds like a service you think your student might benefit from, you can refer them right now, using this link. This service is free for Cleveland students and it is available right now through, at minimum, the end of this school year.
We can't wait to see what this service can do for our students, and we look forward to telling you about other opportunities for support as they become available. We hope you have a restful and restorative weekend!
