Flynn Update

Dear Flynn Families,
I hope this message finds you and your loved ones well. As we journey through another school year together, there are moments that genuinely stand out, moments where our collective voice shapes our community of staff, students, and parents. One such defining moment has been the collaborative crafting of our new Mission and Vision:
Mission: To ensure that all students achieve academic excellence, become productive members of society, experience joy and satisfaction in life, and strive to create a world where all have access to these outcomes.
Vision: Embarking on the journey to be the nation's pinnacle of public education.
These statements encapsulate not just our goals but the dreams we harbor for your child. Now, with our renewed sense of purpose, here's a look at the upcoming events and updates:
District Showcase and Trick or Treat
- Date: October 24th at Westminster High School.
- Details: Families can participate in trick or treating from 5-7 pm. Be sure to stop by the Flynn table!
Halloween Costumes
- Date: Tuesday, October 31st.
- Details: Costumes can be worn on Halloween at Flynn, but for safety, masks, face paint, or weapon-like accessories are not permitted.
Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Dates: November 6th (2-6 pm) and November 8th (4-8 pm).
- Details: Teachers are distributing forms today in order to sign up for meeting times.
Next PTO Meeting
- Date: Wednesday, November 15th at 4 pm.
- Location: Flynn Library. We hope to see you there!
Flynn PTO Community Event and Fundraiser at Chick-fil-A
- Date & Time: Tuesday November, 28th from 5-8
- Location: 10280 Federal BLVD, Denver, CO 80260.

Classroom Spotlight!
Students in Mrs. Anderson's CLDE class took part in learning about the phases of the moon for the past few weeks. They wrapped up their learning by creating the moon phases with Oreos and officially became moon phase experts!
Ms. Leja's middle schoolers participated in a science fair! Be sure to ask your student what they presented.
Save the Date for Parent-Teacher Conferences
We will be hosting parent-teacher conferences on two days in November. Monday, November 6th from 2:00-6:00 PM and Wednesday, November 8th from 4:00-8:00 PM. Teachers will send home forms for you to sign up starting October 20th.

K-8 School
- 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Tuesday-Friday (1:30 release on Mondays)
Pre-K
- 8:30 - 3:00 p.m., Tuesday-Friday (1:00 release on Mondays)
Other Important Dates
October 25th: PSAT for 8th graders (more info to come)
November 10th: Veterans Day, observed (no school)
