Canal View Families,

Happy Friday! This was a wonderful week filled with lots of learning, friendship, and love as we celebrated Valentine's Day and our beloved Valentines for Veterans event. Our Service Learning Club, led by Mrs. Rogala and Mrs. Demitrovic, did a wonderful job planning an assembly to honor our veterans. We appreciate all their hard work, and I know the veterans enjoyed a very special morning.

As a reminder, there will be no school Monday, February 19 - Friday, February 23. I hope your family is able to rest, recharge, and have some fun. Enjoy!

We want to give you advanced notice for this: We anticipate that the construction work across our schools and campus will impact traffic and congestion. Starting April 9, it is recommended that students ride the bus to and from school to maximize overall safety and reduce traffic and bus delays.

On April 8, Rochester and surrounding areas will experience a once in a lifetime event - a total solar eclipse. The excitement about this is building at Canal View. Over the next few weeks students in all grades will be learning about the solar eclipse in STEAM lab. We encourage you to talk to your child about what they see in the sky, motions in space, and what makes a solar eclipse. Students will also be receiving a countdown calendar to use at home as you wait to experience this event. Although our district is closed that day, there are many local area activities you can check out with your family to make the most of this tremendous event.

Parents and guardians now have the ability to request changes to contact information in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal. Once logged into the Parent Portal, parents can access the MORE tab to make updates to phone numbers and email addresses. Additionally, parents can add or edit emergency contact information for individuals outside of the household. All updates will be processed for approval by the appropriate district staff member before they are finalized. If you have any questions about this, please contact your grade level Infinite Campus contact.
