From the Principal's Desk

On Friday, 2/24, we recognized a group of students selected by staff members as exemplary role models of "Responsibility". These students demonstrated the pillar of responsibility in many different ways at Riverbend.

For 3rd Trimester, our focus will be on "Resiliency". Often times, the later portion of the school year can be difficult for students academically and socially. We want students to know that they are capable of making it through challenging times with the support of their teachers, peers, and family members. We will recognize those students at the Breakfast of Champions late this spring.

We are very proud of our students and their accomplishments!

Technology Updates

The MVR-3 district recently made some changes to monitoring software on student chromebooks. Building administrators now receive notifications any time a student is flagged for inappropriate language or website usage. Some of the items that will be flagged are:

Threatening Language (This includes threats made to others and threats of self-harm)
Hate Speech (Racist or misogynistic language)
Pornographic Websites/Searches/Language
Inappropriate Videos/Songs

Please remind your student that their device is intended for appropriate school use only. This also applies to usage outside of school. If we receive a notification that we feel affects student safety, we will notify you immediately with a phone call. If your student uses their device outside of school hours, please monitor their activity closely. Students in violation of the Acceptable Use Policy may be disciplined under policy 4.11 of our student handbook. Please feel free to reach out if you have questions or concerns.
