A Note From the Principal
Our lockdown drill was a success and the campus was secured very quickly. Our students were great and we are appreciative of our staff that help to make these necessary drills run as smoothly as possible.
There is a new trend (likely due to social media) of student groups crowding into the bathrooms to see how many students can fit. This morning there were over 25 boys in one of the bathrooms. While this may seem funny and harmless to 12 and 13 year-olds, please take a moment to speak with your student about why this can become dangerous and how this keeps those that actually need the facility from being able to utilize it. We appreciate your support.
Students who do not have their ID with them must go to the attendance office to be verified and then go to the main gate to enter the campus. Please ensure your student has their Rio Norte ID with them each day. If they have lost the ID card, they can go to the library to get a replacement for $5. Please remember this is for all of our students' safety.
Finally, this past Sunday several families tried to reach me about the social media issue and were using an incorrect email address. While I sent my correct email in the message that went out Sunday evening, we have also added my direct email address to the website under the Principal's Message (when you click "Read More") and on Principal's Newsletter tab which can be found under "News". However, being we are not constantly on email if it is after hours where you cannot reach the school directly and it is too urgent to wait until regular business hours, you may have to call the SCV Sheriff Department at 661-260-4000.
Thank you for always supporting our school and I hope you have a fantastic weekend!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Bennett
