Larkin Greenewood Ford Awarded Grant
Three students interested in the automotive industry have joined Larkin Greenewood Ford in Connersville. Jackson J. (photo right), Dalton A.(photo left), and Tyler M. (not pictured) work as technicians in the service department. Their experience is funded by a Work and Learn Indiana grant from the Institute for Workforce Excellence, a subsidiary of the Indiana Chamber of Commerce. The dealership hired the WCC students as paid high school interns, and through the grant is reimbursed for 50% of the student’s hourly income. Currently, the grant is focused on the Next Level Jobs industry areas, including Advanced Manufacturing, Building and Construction, Health and Life Sciences, IT and Business Services, Transportation and Logistics, Education, and Agriculture. To learn more about the program, contact Beth Shank-Fodrea at Whitewater Career Center or go to workandlearnindiana.com/earn_info.
