Dear Bobcat Families,

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with family and friends. As we take time to reflect on what we are thankful for this season, I want to extend my gratitude for all BJH families and staff who generously contributed to the BJH Helping Hands fund. Together we raised over $1,000. The BJH Helping Hands fund is used throughout the school year to tend to the needs of students and their families. These funds are used to provide school supplies, clothing, food and other essential items to those in need.

As we approach the holidays, BJH is holding its annual Toys for Tots drive. Students and staff are encouraged to bring an unwrapped toy to one of the toy collection boxes in the office between November 27th and December 15th. All toys will be collected on December 15th to distribute to families in need in our community. Thank you in advance for your generosity and for making this holiday season extra special for a boy or girl in need.

This Thursday is the last day of Native American Heritage Month. All month our ASB students highlighted different Native Americans on the bulletin board on University Drive. In addition, Native Americans were highlighted during morning announcements and on Google Drive. We enjoyed celebrating the rich heritage and contributions of Native Americans.

Lastly, this Thursday, there is an English Language Advisory Council (ELAC) meeting in the school library. The meeting is from 9:00 am- 10:00 am. During this meeting parents will learn about how English Learner (EL) students can be reclassified according to the California Reclassification Criteria. Parents of EL students will also learn what their students are working on in their daily English Language Development (ELD) elective. Don't miss this opportunity to meet and learn more about how to support your student in attaining English Language proficiency. Our guest presenters are:
