What a great start to the school year this week. We had lots of fun activities and orientations from our Thursday in-peron elementary day to our week of orientations at the high school. It was so great to see all of the smiling faces and the positive energy that comes from the beginning of the year. Check out this week's newsletter for lots of informtion including links to our Back to School Nights and information on upcoming events. Our background this week features our 9th/10th grade high school orientation.

Principal's Message...
This week marked a memorable first week at Tustin Connect as we had so many smiling faces join us for a great kick off to the school year. From interactive games to fun activities and opportunities to get to know our peers, students got to take their first step as Mavericks this year. It was also great to see our parents connecting as well as they dropped off their students for the first days of the 2022-23 school year. Middle School Information

Save the Date for Picture Day: Students will be having picture day on September 12th from 8 -12 noon on the K-8 campus. Student will receive their IDs that same day. More details coming soon. We just wanted to make sure you have your calendars marked.
Parent Schoology Accounts: A great way to keep track of your students assignments is by creating a Parent Schoology account. If you have not done so, check out this How to Video.
High School Information
Picture Day MONDAY: This Monday, August 22nd between 8am and 12pm is Picture Day. Students will receive their ID card at the time they take their picture. If students are unable to attend, a make up picture day will be October 20th from 10:30 am-12 noon. We do have some street closures on Monday, so please consult your email or call the front office. Check out the flyer for more information on packages.

SORA Virtual Texts Collections
TUSD Resource Sora Summer Read
Sora Sweet Reads in an annual summer reading program designed for schools to encourage students to keep reading all year long. "Check out" the free collection of simultaneous use juvenile and young adult ebooks (and select audiobooks).
Login to Sora to access these and many any other great ebooks and audiobooks all summer long through Clever, TUSD Student Portal or soraapp.com using your TUSD Google login and password.
Student Request - SORA books – Here is a link to the Google Doc that I would LOVE for you to send to your students so that we could get some suggestions and recommendations from them!!
