Quetzal News
February 28, 2024
From Ms. O's Desk
Dear Quetzal Families,
As we enter the month of March, I am excited to share with you the theme of our focus: Women's History Month. At Gabriela Mistral, we believe it is essential to celebrate the remarkable contributions of women throughout history and to honor their resilience, determination, and perseverance. This month, we emphasize the importance of these qualities as exemplars of our value of the month: grit.
Grit is the unwavering perseverance and passion for long-term goals, even in the face of obstacles. It is a quality we strive to instill in our students, teaching them the importance of resilience and determination in achieving success. As parents, your support in reinforcing these values at home is invaluable, and we are committed to providing opportunities for your child to develop and demonstrate grit within our school community. Whether it's through academic challenges, service projects, or leadership opportunities, we encourage our students to embrace challenges and setbacks as opportunities for growth.
This month, we have two important events coming up. Please join us:
Cafecito with Dr. Rudolph
Date: March 12th, 2024
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: MUR
Join us for an engaging discussion with Dr. Rudolph. This informal gathering is an excellent opportunity for parents to connect, share insights, and learn more about our school and district.
Open House
Date: March 21st, 2024
Time: 5:30 PM
Location: MUR and classrooms
We invite you to attend our Open House event, where you can experience firsthand the incredible work and achievements of our students. Explore our classrooms, meet our dedicated teachers, and learn more about how we nurture values like grit, responsibility, and perseverance in every aspect of our educational approach.
We look forward to your participation in these events and to celebrating Women's History Month together as a community. As always, your support and involvement play a crucial role in shaping the experiences and opportunities we provide for our students.
With warm regards,
Claudia Olaciregui, Principal
