Principal's Ponderings
Saturday, September 23, 2023 marked the first day of autumn. In Michigan, we have the beauty of the cool, crisp fall mornings reflective of the changing foliage in an amazing autumnal color palette of the reds, oranges, and yellows. A very special thank you to the Guardian Guild for the annual Fall Festival at Three Cedars Farm in Northville, Michigan. The Guardian Guild works to enhance the culture and community of our fine K-12 academy. Our LCA families enjoyed dinner, cider & donuts, live music, hay rides, a corn maze, and a playground and petting farm. The bonfire with s’mores warmed the cool evening breeze with a sweet treat. In October, we also observed Fire Safety Month and appreciated the fire truck visit from Northfield Township Fire Department. The firefighters gave a lesson on fire safety, a tour of the big, red fire truck and honked the horn to tell us goodbye for the day. We appreciate our firefighters!
We have had many celebrations to begin our school year. Kindergarteners are enjoying school and the Class of 2024 are embracing their senior year. All of our students are learning every day from second grade reciting Caterpillars by Aileen Fisher to fifth grade camp where students learned about teamwork, fishing, and hiking a trail. The Upper School Journalism class published the Guardian Gazette, our school newsletter produced by students under the direction of our high school teacher, Mrs. Davidson, English Language Arts. The Music and Art department brought a melodious fall concert in the gymnasium. On Sunday, November 5, 2023 we will turn our clocks back one hour, to fall back the time. Enjoy the upcoming season as the leaves turn and we prepare for the winter season. The staff and students at Livingston Classical Academy will continue to discover the good, the true, and the beautiful.
