OES Vision: At Oregon Elementary School, we are a community that cultivates academic excellence and empowers young leaders to make a positive impact on the world
Message from the Principal
We enjoyed the opportunity to have a "normal" week of school with no weather related interruptions. I have been impressed with our staff and students commitment to working hard this month following Winter Benchmarking results. There was much to celebrate throughout the building and I appreciate the effort our staff put in to celebrate our students' growth throughout the building. A few notable highlights:
- 90% of our 3rd Grade students met their NWEA MAPS goal in Math, and 80% of them met their goal in ELA!
- 80% of our 2nd Grade students met their NWEA MAPS goal in Math!
- Every grade level in the building increased their percentage of Meeting/Exceeding from the Fall to the Winer in Math
Another highlight comes from a research project from Stanford University which measured the impact of the Covid Pandemic on student academic outcomes in each district in the United States. In comparison to local districts, our students fared better than all of them in ELA and Math (pictured below). I am so proud of our district's commitment to improving academic outcomes for kids and truly believe we have the best staff around!

We also met with grade levels and with staff individually to identify successes and areas of growth as it relates to winter benchmarking data, and I am confident in our staff's ability to continue to foster academic growth for the remainder of the year. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated staff who is constantly searching for ways to improve their craft and meet the needs of their students. Thank you for all you continue to do to support our staff and students! Let's finish the 3rd quarter strong!
Go Hawks!
