Message from the Principal
As October begins, we all fall into the rhythm of the year. Classroom environments have been established. Expectations are clear. Friendships are being formed. Students across the building have been hard at work learning how to be readers, writers, mathematicians and about the world they live in through social studies and science. October is an incredible time of year when so much has already been done, and yet there is still hope and promise for what lies ahead.
I am excited to announce that Findley's Running Club, Findley Flyers is returning after three long years. Findley Flyers will start Tuesday, Oct. 4. For those who are new to our school community, Findley Flyers is a running club that takes place twice a week: Tuesdays during students' lunch recess and Thursdays from 8:00-8:20am. On Thursday mornings, families and siblings are able to attend in this fun event. Students receive tokens and recognition for laps and miles run throughout the year. Findley Flyers is dependent on our volunteers, so please be on the lookout for information from the PTO on how to sign-up to volunteer on Tuesdays to support our running program.
It doesn't seem like Fall weather is here to stay just yet, hope everyone enjoys the beautiful weekend ahead mother nature has promised us.
Thank you for all you do to make our community special~
Sherry Marsh, Ed.D.

Parent Partnership Series: The Impact of Electronics on the Child/Teen Brain
We had a great turnout for Shawn Marshall's presentation on Thursday night. It was fantastic to see our parents come together to learn more about the effects of technology on the brain. Parents received valuable information and tips on parenting along with an understanding of the impact of technology and its effect on our children. We are including the handout from Mr. Marshall's presentation. If you have any questions or would like additional information, please let us know. We are also open to suggestions of topics for future Parent Partnership gatherings.
Thank you very much to our fabulous PTO for sponsoring this event.
