A Holiday Tailgating Tradition
Teachers got together to do some tailgating early on the last day o' school before the break. A little fire, some hot coffee, some donuts, and companionship. A good time was had by all who braved the cold.

12 Days of Caring
As part of our 12 Days of Caring, we had a number of dress up days. One of our favorites was yesterday's Swap Day: kids were to dress like teachers and teachers tried to dress like kids. I'm not sure how accurately each group portrayed the other.
How do you think we did?
December IB Learner Profile: Caring
IB Learners show empathy, compassion and respect towards the needs and feelings of others. They have
a personal commitment to service, and act to make a positive difference to the lives of others and to the environment.
IB students tell us they bring this commitment to community and others to their activities and leadership roles at university and carry it throughout their lives.
More Computer Aided Design Projects
Marie J.L.'s Gingerbread House project (above) and a Plant Cell design (below) are two more magnificent examples of student work from our Engineering & Technology classes.
We love our designers. Two more, late-entry Gingerbread Houses:

The Bridge
Summerour Middle School opened a small restaurant one night this week for students who wanted to spend 100 earned Blue Bucks to feed their family a holiday meal. We call it "The Bridge." It was a rousing success. Last week we showcased some pictures from the event, but we thought we'd give you a quick video overview this week.
Encourage your child to keep earning those Blue Bucks.
Summerour is a No Phone Zone!
Cell phones are not allowed during the school day at Summerour.

Have You Tried the Apps?
ParentVUE App
Parents can use this if they have a Parent Portal account. It's an app that makes it much easier to quickly access the portal and navigate student grades, absences, etc...
We strongly encourage you to use this if you have a portal account. If you don't have a portal account, come to the school and set one up.
Uninstall/Reinstall
If you are using either of these apps, but it quit working in September of 2022, you may need to uninstall/reinstall. There was a major update last month that requires this.
StudentVUE App
Students can install this on their iOS device (iPhone, iPad) or their Android device to more easily access the "My StudentVUE" portion of their portal: this includes, grades, missing assignments, etc.
