The Husky Bulletin 9/8/2023

Principal's Corner
Hello Oak View Families,
We had a FANTASTIC first week of school here at Oak View! Thank you for sharing your amazing group of scholars who were busy learning some new routines and getting to know new friends and some new staff this week.
Here are just a couple of reminders for families. Due to many factors, especially food allergies, we are requesting that outside food items are not brought into our cafeteria. We want to provide a safe space for each student to eat their lunch.
Please remember to fill out the Application for Educational Benefits form found on our district website at district279.org, a paper form found in our school office, or the button below. This form may qualify your family for reduced fees for musical equipment, internet costs, sporting and activity fees.
From all of us to your family, have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the beautiful summer weather.
Warmly,
Ann Mock, Interim Principal

Volunteer Coordinator
Welcome to our new and returning families! I am excited to be back at Oak View as your volunteer coordinator for the second year.
Our first big need for volunteers is on Friday, September 29, for our Annual Husky Fun Run. This is our PTO’s largest fundraiser and we will need several volunteers to help this event run smoothly. Sign-up here to help at the Fun Run!
The PTO will kick-off the fun run on Monday, September 18. Be on the lookout for information to come home with your scholar that week.
Reminder: All visitors and volunteers entering the building during school hours need to have an updated volunteer application on file. These expire each August. Please take a moment to complete your application for this school year using the link below if you have not done so already.
If you are interested in volunteering during the school year, please send me an email at thompsona2@district279.org. We have opportunities to help in the media center, prep projects for classrooms, and occasionally some take-home projects. In your email, please include what type of projects you are interested in helping with and your availability. I look forward to hearing from you!
