Craddock's Weekly Update
For the Week of February 27, 2023
Mrs. Menta's Message
Happy Sunny Sunday Craddock Families!
It sure was nice to wake up today to sunny skies. Now we just need the temperatures to warm up once and for all! Wishful thinking for NE Ohio in February I'm sure!
The last time I put out a Weekly Update was two weeks ago, so I never had the chance to thank our PTO and parent volunteers for all they did to make our Valentine's party so much fun on February 14th! The kids loved the treat from PTO and thoroughly enjoyed all the activities the parents planned. Thank you for all you did to make it such a special celebration!
This Thursday, March 2nd we will celebrate Read Across America by asking all of our 1st and 2nd graders to bring in 3-4 of their favorite books from home to read at school! In addition, we are asking for everyone to wear as many articles of clothing as possible that have something to read on them. Hats are perfectly fine! Students will have some time carved out of their day to enjoy some of their favorite books!
Friday, March 3rd is the last day of our second trimester. Please know that means that your child's Gather narratives will go live Friday, March 10th. I will be sending home a reminder for how to access this important information. If you need any support, you can also always reach out to your child's teacher or myself! In addition to Gather becoming available, Spring Parent/Teacher Conferences are coming 3/07 and 3/09. Your child's teacher has sent home information about signing up for these, if one is needed.
Many thanks to all of our safe and respectful car rider families! It's a process each day to get all the kids in and out safely and your support is greatly appreciated. As a reminder, please try to avoid the use of Willard Road during drop off and pick up. It creates additional congestion.
Thank you!
Have a wonderful week as we welcome March on Wednesday! Let's hope some spring-like weather follows!
Take care,
Kim Menta

Craddock's Nurse, Mrs. Courtad
Hello Craddock families! I have a district cell phone I am using now that will allow me to have much more convenient access to you! Please know you may receive a text from me for minor clinic visits. Any serious issues I will address with a phone call. You are welcome to store the number and can also send me a message during school hours with any questions or concerns for your child. Feel free to email as well! My school cell number is 330-285-3714. Take care and stay healthy!
News from Our School Counselor, Mrs. Ambrosia
Hello Families! I am happy to share that all Craddock students have benefited from a review of expected behaviors within their individual classrooms. All classrooms focused on the following nine expected behaviors:
I can use walking feet.
I can use a safe body.
I am ready to learn.
I can share, take turns and wait.
I can stop, think and make a good choice.
I can listen and follow directions right away.
I can clean up.
I can be a good friend and use kind words.
I can only worry about myself (role model skills).
I will continue to support students with a positive focus on these expected behaviors!
Moving forward, we will focus on the topics of kindness, diversity and inclusion. During this month of February, our focus will be to celebrate Random Acts of Kindness Week and Black History Month.
Beginning next week, we will focus on the following kind acts each day:
Monday, February 13- Tell someone, “Good job.”
Tuesday, February 14- Give a silent wave.
Wednesday, February 15- Say, “Hi!” to someone you don’t normally talk to.
Thursday, February 16- Give three students a compliment.
Classrooms will visit these topics in varying ways, but I wanted to share with you some of the activities and resources your children may be referring to at home:
The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation | Kindness at Home
K-2 Diversity & Inclusion Literature for Families
As always, please reach out with any questions! I hope you enjoy a wonderful weekend at home with your families!
