Summary of the week/upcoming information
On Wednesday, we reflected and remembered those affected by September 11, 2001.
After school today, our staff and family members attended a dedication ceremony for Mrs. Shumske's Buddy Bench.
Our staff is learning a new assessment tool and students will start participating in MAP assessments over the next few weeks. Please see below an explanation of MAP assessments.
Next week we are going to practice a baricade drill. I will send an email and phone message next week explaining the drill. We will continue to keep safety at the forefront of our school.
If you forgot to order your spirit wear, we will have sale mid October.
Thank you for all your support and commitment to Brooklyn School!
Go Hurricanes!
Mrs. Cristin Cicco
Buddy Bench
What is a buddy bench? Please take a moment to look through the presentation shared with the kids this week. Our counselors and teachers have been working hard to create an inclusive environment and spread kindness.
Also, our staff has painted kindness rocks and they will be placed around the school grounds. If you find a kindness rock and you need a positive message, feel free to pick it up and keep it in your pocket. You can also pick up a rock and give it to a peer that may need a pick me up.
Feel free to make your own kindness rocks, with happy positive messages and spread them around our community. Let's work together to make a difference.

Here is the information regarding the requirements and the form that needs to be filled out and returned to the school. Please contact Brooklyn School with any questions.
From the Nurse
Would you please notify the clinic of any health concerns (newly diagnosed or chronic illnesses, allergies etc.) that your child may have so we can best care for them during their time here at school.
The clinic phone number is (216) 485-8179, or e-mail me at terri.beck@bcshurricanes.org.
Also please update your contact information as these are the numbers we use to contact you in the event of an illness or injury situation. Updates are also required for your student to participate in any Field Trip (off campus) activities.
