Falcon Flyer
Belong. Inspire. Grow.
Straight from the Hardt
Hello Ridgeline Families-- This week has brought us many amazing moments and opportunities for our students. The highlight of our week was an all-school assembly featuring our guest speaker, Kevin Atlas. This guy was awesome. Spoke right to the students in a language they understand. Called them out when needed, and used his missing arm as a way to tell his story and add some humor! To me, the most important message he delivered was to live your life to improve the lives of those around you. You have to love yourself for who you are and at the same time have empathy and demonstrate understanding for others. We know that technology is one way that has created isolation and a sense of self-worth based on likes and followers in many of our young people. Kevin’s message was to quit ‘floating’ through life and be present, be with people, and make your school community a place where everyone wants to be and truly belongs. Obviously, he got all of our attention, as we continue to strive for exactly that type of culture.
Athletics are in full swing and our teams are continuing to improve and build on their successes. Same with all our competitive and performing groups. Being from a small town growing up everyone all kind of does the same things and has similar interests. It’s so impressive to me to see the diversity of talent our students possess in so many different ways. I’m proud of how hard they work and enjoy seeing them be successful.
This week is Back To School Night here at Ridgeline, in the commons, beginning at 5:30. OPEN HOUSE format, meaning, you can arrive any time between those two hours. Plan on about 20-30 minutes if you want to connect with most teachers or activity groups. It’s 50% informational and 50% of a social event!
A couple of quick reminders… Please pull forward at ALL TIMES in the valet parking line. And… Ridgeline is a CLOSED CAMPUS during the lunch break. Please remind and encourage your student to stay on campus for lunch. Thank you.
You definitely need to read the Falcon Flyer today for the many upcoming events, deadlines, and opportunities for students. Stay informed.
