Read Across America Celebration: March 4th - 10th!

We are excited about books here at Valerius and want to celebrate our building growth this year in the area of literacy! Kids and teachers have been working hard and learning lots! Friday (3/4) is Get comfy and Read! Wear your comfy clothes today and get ready for some extra reading time!

PTO Dine to Donate Fundraiser at Tropical Smoothie Cafe!

Take the work out of your evening and grab dinner at Tropical Smoothie Cafe on March 9th between 2-7pm! A portion of sales come back to support the Valerius PTO.

You must mention you are there to support Valerius or show this post or the event flyer to the cashier. Flyers will be sent home the week before the event. Please do not distribute flyers to others at the restaurant.

Nationals School Breakfast Week!

This past week we celebrated National School Breakfast Week! Urbandale Food & Nutrition donated a copy of the book, I can Eat a Rainbow, to every elementary library. Also, each student who ate breakfast this week was entered into a drawing to win a prize. Below are two of our winners! CONGRATULATIONS!

Visitor Reminders

Just a few reminders as we welcome visitors back into the building.

  • As the COVID-19 vaccine is currently approved for individuals 5 years of age and older, visitors are permitted for Kindergarten through 12th grades. This means that students, staff, families, and visitors in compliance with school visitor policies and Principal approval are allowed inside our elementary (K-5), middle, and high school buildings.
  • Visitors are not permitted during lunch for Kindergarten through 8th grades.
  • Building Principals may limit the number of adult visitors in a classroom, or in an area of the building, at any given time.

All visitors must check into the main office to sign in and to be escorted to the classroom. Please call the main office if you have any questions.
