VIllage Updates
Champions Childcare - Call today for available care options:
Village: 619-865-1577
Birthday Treats: Many families love to bring in treats for their child's birthday. If interested in bringing in something for your child's birthday, it must be non-edible (no food allowed). Speak to your child's teacher about options and their preferences. Need ideas? Search non-food birthday treats. Many cool ideas pop up!
Snacks: Your child will have an opportunity each day for snack. Please send one if interested.
Refillable Water Bottles: Due to COVID protocols, we are not able to provide access to our water fountains. We do, however, have refillable water stations throughout campus. We are trying to be environmentally friendly and are encouraging students to bring a water bottle to use throughout the day. Please label the water bottle with their name and room number, so that if lost, we can return to the student's room promptly.
Ice Cream Friday: This Friday is Ice Cream Social Friday, 9/3/2021. If interested in purchasing an Ice Cream, please bring in $1.50. Exact change is appreciated.
Labeling Items:
Please label your child's lunch box, water bottles and sweatshirts.
Classroom Concerns: Please bring all classroom concerns to your child's teacher before bringing it to administration. Open communication is key to your student's success. We have many ideas about solving conflicts and resolving concerns which help us grow together. Thank you for being your our partner in your child's education.
Gates for Arrival and Dismissal: Thank you all for being understanding and flexible as we are working through the kinks at arrival and dismissal. We are continuing to work out the kinks with staff to keep our students safe. It will get better soon...it always does.
Library: Library will be starting after Labor day. More information and schedules will be sent out soon.
Classroom Environments: It was warm last week and we made adjustments to our recess and PE schedules to help us keep cool. We also had all of our doors and windows open and fans circulating air. We have installed air purifiers in each classroom. We are also disinfecting high-touch areas throughout the day, and cleaning throughly at night. If you have any questions about our classroom environments, please contact our COVID team at:
619-437-1305 or ext. 1040 or email them at COVIDteam@coronadousd.net
Computers: If your student, in grades 1st-5th, have not received a computer yet, they will this week. Just like a backpack, students need to bring the computers back and forth to school each day.
Recess/PE: Our team spent a lot of time learning about the rules of 4-square other games this past week. For this reason, not everyone got a turn in the given amout of time at recess. As we get better at understanding the rules, and our team is confident that our students are ready for play, more students will get many more opportunities to play. Thank you for helping our students process this - it's not always easy when we don't get a turn.
