GROWING GREATNESS at North Side...
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year!!!
This year, our theme is "Growing Greatness" and we are centered around the vision of all students growing academically, socially and emotionally this year.
Again, we will continue our focus in reading that we started last year. This includes the uninterrupted 90 minute reading block and small group support. This year we will continue learning about the Science of Reading. Our teaching will be explicit and systematic in the five essential components of reading: phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary and comprehension. Research shows if students spend time working on these five reading components, it will help them to become proficient readers. We are looking forward to continuing this focus. We saw GREAT results last year and know we will continue to see GREATER results as we push forward with this.
At home, you can encourage your child(ren) to read "for fun". Stay on top of homework, if they have any. Stress the importance of school and getting their education. Please do your best to have your kids to school every day and on time!
If you ever have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to classroom teachers or myself at sleasure@eastnoble.net or (260) 347-1354.
Your partner in education,
Stephanie Leasure
Principal

In Tune with Attendance and Safety with Mr. Perlich
Welcome to the 2023-2024 School year. I am excited to see all the students and get off to a great start to the year! Below are a few topics that are of great importance to know heading into the year.
Attendance –
Attendance is an important part of your child’s education. Being present at school each day and on time helps them achieve their full potential. We understand that students get sick and need to miss school on occasion. Try to schedule appointments and vacations during our breaks throughout the school year. If your child is seen by a doctor, please send in a signed doctor slip the next day they return. Having your child at school on time is important as well. This allows them to get the breakfast they need if they are eating in our café, and it helps them to not miss important information at the beginning of the day in their classroom.
East Noble School Corporation follows the attendance protocol that is shown below. Please know that I want to work with you and together we can make this the best year possible for student attendance.
Safety –
We try our best to keep the school as safe as possible. We will conduct several drills to ensure that the staff and students are prepared in the event something should happen. We will practice fire, tornado, earthquake, shelter-in-place, lockdown, and relocation drills this school year. Each month, we are required by the state to conduct certain drills.
If you should have any questions regarding attendance or safety, please contact me at the school or by email at jperlich@eastnoble.net. I am looking forward to a great year!
The Nurses Nook
Hello Wildcat families 😊 I’m so excited to start seeing the kid’s faces in school again!!
A couple of things to keep in mind this upcoming school year:
- Parents, PLEASE send a change of clothes for your child to keep in their locker at school. Accidents happen, whether it’s urine, spilled milk or mud… it happens and your child is always more comfortable in their own clothes!!
- I have a closet with extra clothing just in case, but supplies are limited. If your child is growing out of their clothes and you don’t know what to do with them, I will gladly take used pants and underwear, size 6-14.
- Please, make sure your child(ren) are up to date on vaccines!! I will be making phone calls and sending home a letter if your child is not up to date on their vaccines. Our policy states that they must be up to date within the first 20 days of school. So please, make those appointment now!!! If you choose not to vaccinate for medical or religious reason, please contact me ASAP.
- Appointments can be made at the Noble county health department or by calling your pediatrician/ family physician.
- Noble County Health Department phone number (260) 636-2978
- Studies have proven that tired and hungry children are not able to perform at their highest abilities. To help your child adjust to going to school all week, please start getting them in the habit of going to bed early with 9 to 10 hours of sleep every night. And remember, a well-balanced breakfast will help your child start their day right! Breakfast is available at school every morning (except 2 hour delay days) and is FREE for all students this year!!! Help your child concentrate better by EATING A WELL BALANCED BREAKFAST EVERY DAY!
- Attendance at school is so very important, but so is the health of our children. If your child is running a fever, vomiting or having diarrhea, please keep them home until they have been fever, vomiting and diarrhea free for 24 hours without the use medication. And remember to call their absence into the office.
The following is needed for MEDICATION to be given AT SCHOOL:
• A signed authorization form (this gives the school permission to give the medication). Please contact me if you need one.
- Prescription Medication is to be given by the instructions on the label. The Label must include the student's name, physician's name, dosage, and time to be given.
- Two times a day medication should be given at home, (in the morning before school and then after school or evening).
- Three times a day medication should be given at home (in the morning before school, after school, and at bedtime). Special arrangements can be made with the school if deemed necessary.
- Four times a day medication is given at lunchtime during school, unless otherwise specified by your physician. Measure out or count out the number of doses needed by the school, Send only this amount in the prescription bottle and keep the rest at home for administration. This will minimize confusion for transportation of medication home and to school.
- Any other times for medication should be specific on the medication label.
- Medication will only be administered as directed.
- Over the counter medication is to be given according to the recommendations of the manufacturer, unless we have a physician’s order stating otherwise.
- Check the label directions to see if it is appropriate for your student's age or weight.
- Send in the original container (preferably a small container)
- Medication in baggies or other containers is not allowed to be given.
If you have any questions concerning medication please feel free to contact me 😊
