THE SCOOP MARCH 2024
COLONIAL HILLS CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTER
A Message From the Director
Dear Parents,
As we move into the month of March, we will be studying Traditional Tales, learning about Dr. Seuss and Travel and Transportation, we will be shifting our focus to St. Patrick's Day and catching those sneaky Leprechauns! We will be encouraging our students to use both their imagination and problem-solving skills to design traps to catch the Leprechauns so we can get their gold! We will also be learning what, where, and facts about rainbows. To celebrate St. Patrick's Day, we will be having Green Food Parties on Friday March 15th in the classrooms. In March we will be celebrating the First Day of Spring (Hallelujah!), National Waffle Day and National Plant a Flower Day! It looks like it will be another busy but exciting month.

BUILDING A CULTURE OF RESPECT
Dear Preschool Families,
We believe that teaching children about respect and good behavior is crucial for their development and growth. At our preschool, we strive to create a positive and nurturing environment where children can learn and thrive. We want to emphasize the following points to help instill these values in our young learners:
1. **Respectful Behavior**: Being respectful means being kind to friends and family, using good manners, and not hitting or hurting others. Encourage your child to talk about problems and conflicts with others constructively and respectfully.
2. **Influence of Teachers and Parents**: Teachers and parents play a significant role in shaping children's behavior. As adults, it is essential for us to model respectful behavior and interactions. Children learn by example, so let's lead with positivity and respect.
3. **Communication and Conflict Resolution**: Encourage your child to communicate openly and honestly with others. If they have a problem with someone, teach them to address it calmly and respectfully. Effective communication is key to building healthy relationships.
4. **Building a Culture of Respect**: When entering our building, greet and remind your child to greet the people they encounter. A simple "hello" or "good morning" can go a long way in fostering a culture of respect and kindness.
We appreciate your partnership in promoting a respectful and positive environment for all children at our preschool. Together, we can help our young learners grow into compassionate and respectful individuals.
We appreciate your support.
Warm regards,
Karla Woods
