SUMMER Mountain Lion Minute
Summer 2024
6/11/24: Message from the Principal, Dr. Kim
I feel like I say this every year, but this year definitely flew by! This year, we have loved watching your children grow and learn. Thank you to the Montgomery community, to the parents and volunteers who have helped us make magical memories with your children. This has truly been a wonderful school year!
We wish our sixth grade students the best of luck as they continue to Middle School. We enjoyed celebrating them during our Sixth Grade Promotion Parade.
We also thank our outgoing Home and School Board members: Crystal Lee, Lauren Wilson,
Bethany Geiger, Steffanie Merz, and Candace Coach. Thank you so much for volunteering your time and making a lasting impact on the Montgomery community!
At the end of this year, we congratulate the following staff members on their well-deserved retirements: Ms. Rost (interventionist), Ms. Mulhearn (paraprofessional), Ms. MacWilliams (School Nutrition Services staff). We thank them for their service to Montgomery, and we wish them the best!
Last but certainly not least, we thank our students for continuing to show RoaRS—even until the last day of school! We hope you enjoy the sun and the summer, and don't forget to read!
And as always...Montgomery RoaRS BETTER TOGETHER! (except the summertime, when we are better apart)

Good Luck Sixth Graders, the Class of 2030!
Congratulations former Montgomery students graduating with NPHS Class of 2024!
Our 2024 Retirees
Ms. MacWilliams has worked for NP for 24 years; 23 of those years were at Montgomery. She worked as a monitor in the cafeteria and then transitioned to working in the back of the kitchen. She will fondly remember the children and the staff at Montgomery. She remembers starting with staff who have since changed their last names and expanded their families. She is looking forward to babysitting her grandchildren (she'll have her hands full with a 2yr old, 1 yr old, and 6 month old!) and spending time with the rest of her grandkids.
Ms. Rost has worked for NP for 26 years and all of them being at Montgomery. As the math interventionist, she has enjoyed working with the students and will remember them most. She will miss the spirit of Montgomery and events like Olympic Day and the miniThon. After she retires, Ms. Rost plans to spend time with her grandkids, volunteer tutor students in math, and frequent the Mexican restaurants in the area.
Ms. Mulhearn has worked for NP for 29 years, beginning at Walton Farm and Penndale and then Montgomery for the last 25 years. Serving as a Special Education Assistant, her favorite memories will be the children and staff she has worked with as well as all the special events like Olympic Day and field trips. She has made some lifelong friendships at Montgomery, and she will continue to see some of the families as she continues to live in the district. After she retires, she plans to spend a lot of time taking Pilates classes, meeting friends for lunch, gardening, enjoying the shore when everyone is back at school, and spending time with her grandchildren.
We will miss Ms. MacWilliams, Ms. Rost, and Ms. Mulhearn, and we wish them happy retirements!

GETTING READY FOR NEXT YEAR...
School Supplies for Next Year
To prepare for next school year, Home & School is working together with Educational Products Inc. (EPI) for 2024-2025 School Supplies! Our EPI school supply packs will contain most of the items requested by our grade level teachers. Not only is this convenient for you, but a small portion will go towards our Home and School.
It's easy to order! Supplies will be prepackaged, labeled & will come with a sheet of sticker labels with your child's name to put on all supply items if requested by teachers. Supplies will be mailed to school end of July, and there will be a date first week in August for families to pick up your supplies. If you are not available for pick up on that specific date, there will be other times in August available for pick up during summer hours.
