SFHS Girls Golf
SFJHS Boys Tennis
While SFJHS Boys Tennis will not begin until around spring break, we want to invite all boys interested in playing to a special meeting. On Wednesday, February 9th, right after school -- in the Lobo Den (across from the Library). We will have a member of the yearbook staff there to take some pictures. Again, any boys planning to play for SFJHS Boys Tennis this spring, please come to this short meeting on Wednesday right after school.
SFHS Girls Golf
Any 9th grade girl interested in trying out for the High School Golf Team, there is an open gym every "A Day" in February at the ALC in Salem from 2:30 to 5:00 pm. Also, there will be an information meeting about tryouts in a few weeks, with tryouts starting on Monday February 28th. Hope to see you there.
She-Tech
The countdown is on. We are less than 90 days away from SheTech Explorer Day!
Reserve seats for your students now and spark an interest in STEM careers for high school girls in 9th-12th grades. Join us from 9am-1pm on Tuesday, March 1, 2022 at the Mountain America Expo Center in Sandy, UT. This FREE, full day of STEM and hands-on workshops in tech is back in person this year and we want to hold seats for your students.
More than 2,000 girls will be in attendance from all over the state of Utah where they will connect directly with female mentors and role models in Utah’s tech industry. When you reserve your block of student seats, we hold a number of seats for your students to attend and get matched with hands-on workshops hosted by real tech companies and brands they love. We will request your list of student names closer to the event date to confirm. Throughout the day, your students will explore career pathways and programs with universities from across the state of Utah, compete to win prizes in a TechChallenge that helps students apply technology to collaborate and problem solve on real-world issues facing their generation, and so much more. Lunch will be provided--all free of cost!
Your school should have received posters to hang around your school with information for girls to get registered. You can find SheTech digital assets here to spread the word, too. For the past two years, students have only been able to engage virtually with others at Explorer Day. We understand this year, more than ever before, it’s important that buses are reserved early--reach out to us if you are struggling to get a bus arranged for your students so we can help make arrangements. We want to make sure every school from every district has access to Explorer Day.
Let SheTech connect you and your students with unique, insider’s access where students can imagine the possibilities, see and speak to real women in the STEM careers that interest them, and learn more about these jobs and the pathways to get them there. Reach out to our team with any questions and to get signed up for our newsletter to gain access and be a part of SheTech today.
Detention E-mails
We are sending out detention notices by e-mail one a weekly basis. Students are allowed 6 free tardies since school started before they have to start serving detention. Here is a break down of how it works:
-On the 7th tardy and everyone after that the students will need to serve 15 min. of detention for each one.
- Late tardy = 30 min. detention
-Sluff = 1 hour of detention
Detention is not given to students for unexcused abscences at this time.
Students are expected to follow the directions on the e-mail sent to them.
Any student with unserved detentions will not be allowed to participate in field trips, school activities or sports. Students will have to have all detentions made up before they can go to Lagoon. We are tentatively planning to go the last week of school!
