Field Day Permission Slip

Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 1st with a rain date of Friday, June 2nd. Please complete a form for EACH of your children. Additional details regarding the schedule for the day will be provided by your child's classroom teacher.

One of the stations is an inflatable obstacle course sponsored by the PTA. Children will need a completed permission slip in order to participate in this station. **Please complete this form by FRIDAY, MAY 26th. Field Day Permission Slip

Future Band Opportunities at Olive-Mary Stitt

This week, the whole school enjoyed a concert by the Olive Beginning Band! Most students in D25 begin their band experience in fifth grade. There are many instruments from which students may choose. There is no requirement for previous musical experience for most instruments, but if a student wishes to learn percussion (drums, mallets, bells, etc.), there is a requirement that the student must first have 2 years of formal piano lessons. Summer Reading!

Reading over the summer is a fun activity that provides entertainment as well as growth in reading skills for students. The District 25 library media center directors have put together lists of recommended books for various grade levels. Families are invited to visit the OMS LMC website’s Summer Reading page to download a copy of the book lists for grades K-2 and grades 3-5. Also included on the site are slideshows which tell more about the books and link to book trailer videos and author talks.

The Arlington Heights Memorial Library will be running a summer reading program from June 1-July 31. Visit their summer reading website to learn more about it. Click the link to watch a video introduction of their program.
