Greetings, STEAM Family!

As you know, our final full week is upon us as we prepare for our district's Winter Break, which will take place February 14th - 19th. Prior to our break, we will continue to keep teaching and learning as top priority at SDE. We are extremely proud of the efforts of our students who will participate in the District Science Fair this Wednesday, as well as those of our teachers who have been participating in various professional learning opportunities to sharpen our skillset in order to help us better meet the needs of our young scholars. Actions such as these propel us towards our district's mission to prepare all students to be effective communicators, problem solvers, and lifelong learners.

In preparation of the remaining days, please carefully review the items featured below, specifically those related to our upcoming Love & Basketball Finale and Valentine's Day Procedures. As always, feel free to contact us anytime with questions or concerns, and thank you for your continued support of "THE" Susie Dasher Elementary School!

WHO ARE WE???...

Congratulations to Ms. Alason Spikes and the students of Bus 21-10 for earning Bus of the Month for January. These students earned this most "thumbs up" for showing PRIDE in their ride for the morning and afternoon routes. As a result, the students will enjoy yummy popsicles during lunch for two (2) days, and Ms. Spikes received a personal treat bag. Great Job, Bus 21-10

• ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!

  
  
• Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
  
  
• The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
  
  
• The PRIDE Afterschool Remediation/Enrichment Program takes place on Mondays - Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Snacks and transportation will be provided. For more information regarding the after school program waiting list, please contact the school at (478) 353-8250.
