PRIDE Under Construction - Week #14 🚧
Greetings, STEAM Family!
We just completed another eventful, yet productive week with celebrating our students’ and staff’s Veteran family members, as well as providing our parents/guardians with academic, attendance, and behavioral current “status checks” via the 2nd Nine Weeks Progress Reports. In DCS, we believe early and ongoing engagement by family and community is vital to success; therefore, we strongly encourage you to alway review your child’s progress report thoroughly, and contact your child’s teacher(s) to schedule a conference if you have any questions or concerns. The end of the 2nd Nine Weeks grading period is December 16, 2022.
This is our final week leading into the Thanksgiving Break for students and staff, and we are hosting several activities on campus. Please review the schedules below so that you may plan accordingly for you and your child. In case you haven't noticed, the weather is finally getting COLD, and this Friday (November 18th) is your LAST CHANCE to place an order for an SDE OR Fighting Irish Spirit Sweatshirt and/or socks for you and your child! These will make great Christmas gifts as well as game ready fan attire just in time for DHS football playoffs and basketball seasons, respectively. Sweatshirts will be delivered before we leave for the Christmas Break, which accounts for the need for orders to be placed quickly. Please make any money orders payable to SDE, and THANKS SO MUCH to all of our parents and stakeholders who have gone above and beyond to purchase already!
Finally, if you have not done so already, please be sure to make any necessary arrangements for your child(ren) for next week (Mon, November 21st – Fri, November 25th) in observance of the break, as all DCS campuses will be closed. Students and staff will return to school on Monday, November 28th. We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday and break!

WHO ARE WE??....
This Week at SDE:
ATTENDANCE MATTERS - Parents, please make sure your child maintains regular attendance and arrives to school in a timely manner. Students are tardy at 8:15 am. Five (5) tardies and/or early dismissals count as one (1) unexcused absence. Student attendance will be a part of criteria used to determine eligibility for school-wide celebrations. Remember, every minute really counts!
- Weekly grade level newsletters will be sent home each Monday, so please check your child's folder and/or book bag.
- The dress code will be enforced DAILY at SDE! Any "Dress Down" days will be communicated in advance. Repeated dress code violations will result in students becoming ineligible to participate in school-wide and/or classroom PRIDE celebrations and events! Please make sure your child adheres to the required dress code. Remember, the P in PRIDE stands for "Personal Responsibility".
- The PRIDE Afterschool Remediation/Enrichment Program takes place on Mondays - Wednesdays from 3:30 pm - 5:00 pm. Snacks and transportation will be provided. For more information regarding the after school program waiting list, please contact the school at (478) 353-8250.
