This and that

Today we honor all of our Veterans. A while back this used to be a day off of school. What we found is that we can increase learning and appreciation of our Veterans by making the day about them. At James Hart today, local Veterans enjoyed a program in their honor as well as breakfast. Our Wildcats made cards and placemats for them to enjoy, full of sweet sentiments like, "Thanks for letting me be free" and " Thanks for your bravery and service." On behalf of the Willow staff, we, too, thank you for your service and are honored to teach your children and grandchildren.

You'll notice in this week's pictures that we have said goodbye to the ghosts and spiders and now have turkeys galore! On the best of days, they are funny looking birds, so when you throw in some googly eyes and very ruffled feathers you get Willow masterpieces!

If you have not signed up for a Parent-Teacher conference, please contact your child's teacher right away. Your Wildcat has been working hard and making progress. We want you to know all about it!

Mother Nature finally figured out it's mid November and the temps are dropping. Your child needs to be dressed so that he/she/they can be outside in the morning and for recess. We use 20 degrees Fahrenheit as or gauge for coming inside. Please label all of his/her/their winter items.

Thank you to those who have sent in items for the food drive. We will continue to accept items through November 16th.

Thank you to all who went out to vote on Tuesday. The District's referendum passed with 71% voter support. We appreciate all of you who helped make this happen!

Ways to help with Fine Motor at Home

Parent Music Association (PMA)

The Parent Music Association is inviting Willow families to join their non-profit organization that provides equitable financial support to all of the district's music programs and musicians. The PMA supports students in music classes and clubs as young as pre-K in District 153.

They have 2 membership levels just for Willow families:

Madagascar Musical at James Hart
