Summer Learning for Students
We are thrilled to share some amazing news for a new collaboration between the Mattawan High School Football Program and the Elementary Summer Learning Camp. This summer, our high school football players will be joining forces with our elementary students for a fantastic reading initiative. In an inspiring display of community leadership, our football players are taking time out of their busy training schedules to engage in our reading program, fueling the love for learning throughout the summer break. Witness the powerful connection as our high school football players swap their helmets for reading glasses, becoming reading buddies and mentors to our elementary students. Together, we are creating a community where knowledge knows no bounds.

Summer Learning for Staff
On Monday, June 12th our administrative team had PLC Professional Development, leading the work of developing and instituting high functioning collaborative teams focused on student outcomes. On Tuesday, June 13th, our teacher leaders (pictured above) for PLC had training, which focused on the development and implementation of a guaranteed and viable curriculum, building common assessments based around proficiency, and using data to identify student needs and reviewing instructional practices.
On Wednesday, June 14th, our administrative team (pictured below) spend a day with Capturing Kids Hearts Leadership Blueprint RECHARGED! This was an opportunity for the administration team to disconnect from the daily work and reflect on the year. The administration had the opportunity to learn about our strengths and constraints of our leadership style and develop a traction plan to grow in our constraint areas.

MPEF & Community Team up to Renovate the Middle School Media Center!
THANK YOU MPEF & COMMUNITY!!πππ₯ππππ
Our 30th Anniversary Capital Campaign to renovate the Middle School Media Center is complete! The last of the furnishings arrived last week and it looks fabulous! Fresh paint, new carpet, new shelving, functional circulation desks, modern furniture and upgraded AV equipment are all part of this much-appreciate upgrade. This is the second Capital Campaign that the Foundation has implemented; in 2018, we also helped renovate the High School Media Center.
A sincere thank you to everyone who supported this important project and helped us reach our fundraising goal of $100,000! You have all been a vital part of helping improve the Heart of our Middle School.
