Dear Families,
School picture day is a favorite time of mine. The kids look so wonderful in their picture clothes. If your child was absent, there will be a retake day on November 30th.
I want to thank the few families that reached out to ask about lunchroom seating after seeing a post on social media. I would like to take this opportunity to share the information with everyone to avoid any confusion. Currently, in our lunchroom, there are 4-5 tables assigned to each class. The students sit at their class tables. From day to day they may choose to sit at different tables with different students from their class. They are not assigned permanent seats. This is in place for a few reasons. Since implementing the controlled choices of seats, there has been a decrease of social conflicts such as "you can't sit here, I want Arjun to sit here" and "this seat is being saved for Ariel but her class isn't here yet". It has also proven to be more efficient in the students eating their food at lunch. Their recess abuts their lunchtime in which they play freely with other classes. If you have specific questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
As the weather is getting cooler, please remind your child to bring a sweatshirt or light jacket. Students go out for recess unless it is raining or the "real feel" is under 20 degrees.
Wishing you a great weekend!
Best,
Melissa
