Welcome Back to Raider Country!
A Letter from the Superintendent
Dear Raiders,
Welcome back to another exciting school year. We are thrilled to see familiar faces of our students and extend a warm welcome to those joining our school community for the first time. As we embark on this journey together, our dedicated faculty and staff are committed to providing a safe, nurturing and enriching environment for your children. We look forward to fostering growth, encouraging their curiosity and empowering each student to reach their full potential. This year promises new opportunities for learning and growth, and we are excited to partner with you in ensuring a successful school year. Thank you for entrusting us with your student's education.
The 2023-24 school year is extra special as we celebrate the momentous milestone of 125 years of excellence. Over the years, our schools have nurtured countless minds and empowered students to reach their full potential. As we step into the future, we are committed to upholding the tradition of excellence in academics, athletics, and the arts that has come to be expected in a Caledonia-Mumford education.
I hope you are as proud as I am of the school we have become over the last 125 years. Together, let us create memories, embrace challenges, and make this 125th year a remarkable chapter in the rich history of our school district. I invite you to celebrate the traditions, innovations, and achievements of Caledonia-Mumford Central School District throughout the 2023-24 school year.
Sincerely,
Robert Molisani
Superintendent of Schools
First Day Fun
The first day of school for the 2023-24 school year was one for the books! There's nothing like hearing our classrooms full of the sounds of little learners!
Cal-Mum Board of Education Planning for Capital Project
The Caledonia-Mumford Central School District Board of Education is in the final stages of planning for a 2025-2026 capital improvement project. The board is expected to adopt the resolution to move forward with the project at the Oct. 10, 2023 board meeting.
The 2025-2026 capital project is a long-term investment in preserving our facilities. The Board of
Education has been hard at work to have a plan in place that will address the needs of the district in a fiscally responsible manner.
Project work at the Elementary School will consist of:
- STEAM renovations in the library;
- a reconfigured main office to provide enhanced security;
- window, roof and pavement replacements; and
- auditorium and infrastructure improvements.
- STEAM renovations in the library,
- a reconfigured main entry to provide increased security,
- auditorium and infrastructure improvements, and
- PA system upgrades.
The 2025-2026 capital project is a prudent long-term investment in preserving our facilities, and we have an established plan in place to pay for the work in the most fiscally responsible manner. The goal is to protect investments already made by our community, as well as to prepare our
facilities to meet future needs. As a result, project improvements will bolster the educational, health, and safety needs of our students with NO TAX IMPACT on the residents in our community.
Proposed project details will be discussed in greater length during the Oct. 10, 2023 board meeting at 6:00 p.m. in the Middle/High School Choral Room. All district residents are welcome.
The age-old question: "Can we have class outside?"
The answer: YES!
Elementary Student Council and their advisors, Mrs. Flint and Mrs. Harmon, are finally able to see their project begin to take shape.
It's been two years in the making, and now the Elementary Outdoor Classroom is ready for students and teachers to enjoy. Mr. Preston at Dugan Creek Lumber in Caledonia delivered the log benches, and we had Mr. Buckley and his team from the Village of Caledonia do all the groundwork to prepare the space. Mr. Brandes was also a big help and installed the picnic tables with Mr. Bulter. We want to thank them all for their willingness and excitement to create such a wonderful space for our students. Our teachers and students are already actively utilizing this new learning space.

Captain Logan Karn played goalie for the Raiders in two amazing double overtime games, both ending in 0-0 draws. Logan made a total of 25 saves, including a PK. His leadership and enthusiasm on and off the field has kept the Raiders focused and eager for a successful season. Karn is a junior in his second year of playing varsity soccer and first year of being a goalie.
