Student Re-Enrollment and the KIBSD Parent Portal
Re-enrollment for the 2023-24 school year is now open!
We ask all families with students that will be returning to North Star in the Fall to re-enroll by checking and updating their information for the year to come. The process is slightly different, but easily accessed through your current Powerschool Parent Portal. Each family should have received an email with more information and a link to start the process. Let us know if you would like us to resend that information.
Parent Portal Account Link -
Please do not hesitate to call Megan or Natalie in the office @907-486-7500 if you need help signing in to your portal. We are always happy to update passwords/emails and make sure access is set up correctly for you. If you have a student that was new to North Star this year, we may still need to create a parent portal account for you. Just give us a call to do so.
Thank you for all you do.
You are invited to the March Family Activity Night!
-Join us on Saturday, March 25th-

North Star Accelerated Reader Has Come Ashore
We have officially ‘kicked-off’ the Accelerated Reader program at North Star!
Accelerated Readers is a digital program that helps students and teachers manage and monitor independent reading practice. The program doesn’t teach reading skills and strategies. It’s intended to encourage kids to read independently, at their own level and pace. Students pick a book at their independent reading level, read it at their own pace, then take a short quiz on the computer to check their understanding. As students read and take quizzes, they earn points and track their progress towards their Individualized Accelerated Reader goals which they have set during goal setting conferences with their teachers. Students who achieve their reading goal by May 12, will get to go bowling and have a picnic during the last week of school. During our end of the year Awards Assembly, we’ll celebrate students who reached their goals, students who earned 100 points, and the top three high point readers. If you’d like to learn more about the program, click on the ‘Accelerated Reader Family Resource’ button below, or reach out to your child’s classroom teacher.
March Breakfast and Lunch Menu
KIBSD Meal Program and Account Payments
If you want to deposit lunch money with a credit card through your PowerSchool parent portal,
please remember that you will need to access the online version.
You can find that link on the www.KIBSD.org website, under the FAMILIES tab.
KIBSD does not support the PowerSchool App, so you won't be able to pay fees that way.
Even though some student info is viewable on the app,
it does not connect to our PowerSchool lunch or activity fee accounts.
We are also always happy to accept cash or checks for student lunch accounts in the office.
Call us @907-486-7500 if you have questions or need any help with parent portal access.
WE LOVE OUR VOLUNTEERS!
Start the process and be ready to help out at school.
Just email volunteer@kibsd.org to get started.
