Message from the Executive Head Teacher
Dear Parents/Carers
We started the week with the HPP new class morning, the excitement amongst the children was matched only by that of the staff who were delighted to meet their new classes. Transition activities will continue over the next few weeks for small groups of children. We are very pleased to welcome new staff to the school and I'm pleased to say that they are keen to be joining us and looking forward to getting started. Year two children joined us for the morning and settled seamlessly into the school. We are looking forward to welcoming their parents and carers to the school this evening for the new parent induction evening.
This week we welcomed 15 Tiawanese students to HJS for the remainder of the academic year. They are staying with local host families and are learning about the UK and enjoying the sights of the local area. They have joined individual classes and are participating in the lessons.
Next week sees the performances of Aladdin by the year six pupils. They have worked so hard on all aspects of the show; singing, acting, dance, lighting, sound, props and costumes but I must thank year six parents for all the support the children have had. We are really looking forward to the performances and I know they will be splendid. All children in years two to five will see the performance in school.
The annual reports are sent out next week on Tuesday 11th. This is for all HPP children except year six as the year six SATs results have been delayed by the DfE so their reports will be sent out on Thursday 13th with the results included...fingers crossed! Please take time to share the report with your child and to provide feedback to the class teacher by following the link to the eform. It is always useful to receive your feedback.
Finally, we will be hosting the FOHJS circus event on Saturday 15th July. I hope you have your tickets and I look forward to seeing you there.
Ms Helen Lockey
Friday 14th July
Friday will be our mufi-day at HJS. Children should "bring a bottle to school" in exchange for wearing mufti-clothes for the day. This will be collected on the school gates by members of FOHJS.
As before, no football kits, make up, hair colouring, belly tops or high healed shoes should be worn. It is still a school day and children should dress appropriately.
