The Eagle Express
Antrim Elementary School March 18, 2022
Greetings!
Look at these lovely students spreading smiles on the walls at recess. I think I got my wish today for warmer weather and a turn away from snow gear. YEAH! The recess teachers wanted me to let you know that snow gear can go home, but boots are still a good idea due to mud.
March 28 - April 1 - NHDI Week. Students will participate in a dance residency all week culminating in an evening performance in the GBS gym on April 1st at 5 pm. Please have your child wear sneakers all week so they can dance in safe footwear, and please save the date for the performance. This is an event you won't want to miss.
Today was the last day of the trimester. You can expect to see report cards coming home next Friday.
Finally, just a reminder that we have a before and after school program at AES. Please inquire for details. Main office at SVBGC: (603) 672-1002 x110 or info@svbgc.org
I wish you a wonderful weekend!
Stephanie :)
Summer Learning Opportunities
The Learning Recovery and Title 1 teams along with the elementary administrators and teachers are hard at work planning summer programming. At our Title 1 schools, students have two options for summer learning - Explore and Expand and Title 1 Reading Program.
Explore and Expand Summer Learning Program is for rising 1st through 4th graders! This four-week long program is designed to support student learning by bolstering school-year skills and helping to fight summer learning loss. Students will receive 1.5 hours of academic support from ConVal Certified Teachers and Tutors. An additional hour of the program is reserved for enrichment exploration, including drumming and cartooning.
The Title 1 Program is for rising 1st through 5th graders! This four-week long program is designed to support student learning in reading. Students will receive up to 3 hours of academic support daily from ConVal Certified Teachers. Time for snacks and breaks will be included in the 3 hours.
Both programs are free of charge, and registration is open to all. As we anticipate great demand, enrollment will be prioritized based on need, working in partnership with schools to ensure that we offer as many additional learning opportunities as possible to all our students.

March Math Madness in First Grade!
First graders are excited to be building on their learning about place value, or tens and ones in numbers. We are working on counting, comparing, adding, and subtracting numbers to 40. Every day, one first grader has the job of teaching all of us how to show “Today’s Number” in different ways.
One day this week, they took on a counting challenge! First, they did a warm-up by counting their own sets and showing how to write the number on the math mat. Then, they worked together to create groups of 5 and 10 to count larger groups of tiles and cubes efficiently. They love those big numbers!

Mischief in Kindergarten
Ms. Lescarbeau's Kindergarteners and Mrs. Hill's 3/4 class went into action on Wednesday. The Reading Buddies were on a mission to catch Sean the Leprechaun. They created traps made out of everyday objects and waited. Unfortunately, Sean was too tricky for us and got away. He did leave gold coins, necklaces and a trail of glitter to thank us for our troubles. Maybe next year we will catch him.
