A Moment with Mrs. O'Donnell
Dear Attea Families,
We have a short week ahead of us! We have no school on Monday, February 19th, for Presidents Day. We also have Conference Day on Friday, February 23rd.
As a part of parent-teacher conferences, our LRC will host our annual spring Book Fair. It will run from February 20th - 23rd. Students can come to browse books during the school day with their classes or with a pass from their teacher. On Friday, the fair will be open during conferences as well!
We look forward to connecting with as many families as possible to share strengths and areas of growth as well as set goals for Trimester 3. How fast has this year gone?
Our PTA Community Service events were a success! Our students learned through experiences and that our actions giving to others not only enriches the receiver but the givers as well. Thanks to our PTA and students who made all this possible!

Your Input on Your Child’s School: 5Essentials Survey
January 30 - March 29, 2024
You can now take the 2023-2024 5Essentials Parent Survey!
You don't need your child's ID to take the parent survey. If the link is redirecting you to the student survey, click here for the English parent survey, and click here for the survey in Spanish.
(If you have children in more than one school, please take the survey for each school.)
The District plans to use the results of this year's survey to give us a clear picture of our schools' climate and culture. If at least 20% of parents participate in the survey, a parent supplement report will be generated and the District will share these results with the community.
Please do your services to Attea and complete the 5Essentials Survey. We are at 5% completion and we need to get 20% of our parents completing the survey to obtain data that we can use for school improvements and growth.
We will provide tools during conferences on Feb. 23rd in our LRC at the Book Fair to assist you in accessing it.
Or take the survey TODAY!

Thanks for advance for your time and support to help Attea to grow!
Congratulations Mr. Hartfield!
Each year, the Illinois State Board of Education honors individuals and teams in school communities who are crucial contributors to the success of our schools, our students, and our communities. Attea is proud to celebrate Mr. Hartfield, a Global Language teacher for earning a 2024 Those Who Excel Award! Thank you for all you do to make Attea a great place to learn.
Plastic Film Challenge!
They are calling all students and families! Attea Middle School's Environmental Club is hosting a plastic film challenge! Students have learned about plastic film and the importance of recycling it through a video and morning announcements at school. We are asking families to collect plastic film at home and have their child bring it to add to their team’s bin found in the science classroom! The contest is underway and will end on February 21. Here's a list of plastics you can bring in:
Exciting Times Ahead for the Class of 2024!
There are many important events for 8th graders that will be upon us quicker than we think. Please take the time to review the link and look for future communication as the dates approach.

Retake Picture Day
For students who missed the original date or want a re-take
TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 20TH
Retakes will take place first thing in the morning. It is important students wanting to participate be on time or they may miss the chance for new pictures.
If you would like to order images but feel that your family might not be able to afford them, please email Ms. Emily O’Connor (eoconnor@glenview34.org), and we can help arrange for the cost of your pictures to be covered.
