• RHS had four students selected to be a part of All-State Band. Alex Wohlwend (sr) - clarient, Alayna Kreger (jr) - french horn, Linus Ng (sr) - euphonium, Kelsie Gehrels (sr) - trumpet! This year's all-state band will be held at O'Gorman High School. The concert will be March 25th at 4:00 pm.

• Jazz I competed at Augustana University on Feb. 28th. They placed 3rd in class 3A and had outstanding musicianship awards for Kelsie Gehrels, Josh Monson and Ian Sheaffer. The next competition will be March 21st, where both Jazz I and II will travel to Vermillion for the day. Information and performance times will be sent once finalized.

• Winter color guard and winter drumline will be hosting a parent show on March 2nd at RHS beginning at 7:00 pm. Winter guard will be traveling to Omaha on March 4th and 11th to compete in the WGI competitions.
• Winter guard will be hosting an online silent auction to raise funds for their group. The auction will go live at 8:00 pm March 2nd. The link is fundraiser.bid/rooseveltguard

• Symphonic band and Concert band will be traveling to Jefferson high school for a day of clinic and contest on March 15th. Each band will perform selections for their upcoming large group contest and get additional help from clinicians both locally and nationally. Information and details will be sent via email.

• Section leader materials are out for next season's marching band! If your student is interested, please have them check google classroom for materials. Each student will be preparing a paper, project and go through an interview process. Those interested in drum major will attend clinics set up by our previous drum majors (Linus & Brock) to ensure they are prepared for their auditions. Materials are due by March 31st. Good luck to all who are interested!

• The next BPA meeting will be April 3rd from 6-8 pm. Location to be determined.

• This fundraiser has begun! Please remember that order forms will need to be turned in my March 8th.
• Delivery date will be March 20th
• Pick up will be at the Pulling residence: 5300 W 53rd Street, Sioux Falls

The trip will be taking place in March 13-17, 2024. More information will be coming soon!

Next year's marching band show will be called Encounters. It will be based on the different types of "kinds" with the other-wordly creatures. Be on the lookout for upcoming prop meeting dates and other information on ways you can be a part of this show! It's going to be out of this world!!

ALL band parents are HIGHLY encouraged to attend the monthly Band Parents Association meetings! The RHS BPA provides the fundraising dollars and volunteer support that are ESSENTIAL to helping our childresn have sucessful band experiences. BPA meetings are held monthly and are open to ALL BAND families. Show your support for your student and the entire band program at RHS! We have MANY leadership roles to fill for next year.
