We want to be sure everyone gets credit for their Reading Achievements. All reading is valuable and valued. Look at the Challenge information below. You can pick up paper logs in the library or at any branch of the Nashville Public Library. All students AND teachers can log their reading in the Beanstack app, too! Just go to clever and find the Beanstack app in the library section.

The Stratford library will be open June 6-July 2 Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesdays from 7 a.m. until 1 p.m. All students and faculty can come to check out during those times. Plus the librarian will be leading activities for Promising Scholars.

You can still place holds or email the librarian diane.chen@mnps.org with requests for Curbside pickup.

The Nashville Public Library is open this summer! You can visit a branch nearest you to check out books, or you can visit them online and checkout ebooks and digital audiobooks!

Your school library's digital collection of e-books and audiobooks is accessible all year long!

How to access:

If you want to narrow your search results and only see the audiobooks, for example,

• Under "All Resources," select "Audiobooks" to see what digital audiobooks your school owns.

Check out the one you want.

• Read or listen on your MNPS device.
• Or, download the MackinVIA app to read or listen to books on your phone or tablet.
• The book will automatically be returned on the due date, or you may select "return early."

ComicsPlus, powered by LibraryPass, is a digital platform offering thousands of digital comics, graphic novels and manga to readers through school, public, and academic libraries. You can access titles using a smartphone, tablet, or web browser, and can be downloaded to multiple devices. There is never a wait to read, all titles are unlimited access simultaneous use. Go to MackinVIa, click the databases to find ComicsPlus, and begin reading. You can download the Mackinvia app or the ComicsPlus app to make things easier.

Our partnership with Limitless Libraries through the Nasvhille Public Library gives you access to thousands of ebooks and digital audiobooks (e-Audiobooks)! Translations are also available.

How to access:

• Use your Limitless Libraries username and PIN to log in. Contact your librarian if you need help with this information.
• Select Elementary, Middle, or High School
• Search by title, author, keyword.
• In the search results, you will see list of formats, such as books, ebook or eAudiobook. Select the version you want and check it out.
• For an ebook, you can choose to download the book in the format of your choice. Common choices are Overdrive, EPub, or Kindle. To read a book in the Overdrive or EPub format on a phone or tablet, download the Libby App. Or, you can select "Read Online" to read on your computer.

If you only want to search for an e-Audiobook:

• On the Limitless Libraries home page, select Elementary, Middle, or High School
• Scroll down and select Downloads- Audiobooks.
• Search the book you want and check it out.
• If you plan to listen on a phone or tablet, download the Libby app to listen to books you've checked out. Or, you can listen on your computer.

The ebooks and e-Audiobooks will automatically be returned on the due date, or select "return early."

The theme for this year’s Challenge, “Press Play,” simply means this: engage in reading and literacy, however you choose to do so.

Getting started with the Challenge is simple. Visit the library’s website to register. From there, you can print a reading log or track your minutes online.

Once you hit 600 minutes, head to any of our in-person or curbside locations to receive a cool prize. Babies and toddlers get an egg shaker, kids get a kazoo (with a bonus prize for caregivers), while teens and adults get a phone charging cable that fits both Android and Apple phones.

Six hundred minutes is all you need to complete the challenge, but you don’t have to stop there. Continuing on to 1,200 and then 1,800 minutes nets free coupons for ice cream, coffee, and more at local businesses around Nashville.

Challenge dates: June 1-July 16, 2021

Read and log your minutes in Beanstack and help your library win the Grand Prize, which is an author visit from Kimberly Brubaker Bradley, Jewell Parker Rhodes, Kwame Mbalia, or Meg Medina, and free books!
