(NEW) Holiday Theme Week at WES!
It's hard to imagine, but we only have TWO WEEKS left until Christmas Break!
The last week of school (December 18th through December 21st) we will have our annual WES Theme Week, which you can view HERE.
Also, on Thursday, December 21st, classrooms will host their holiday parties. Each classroom and each grade level will look different, but be on the lookout for more information from your child's teacher.
(NEW) Visit Santa at the North Pole!
Next Sunday, December 17th at the American Legion in Walkerton Santa Claus himself will be making an appearance along some fun games and food!
Please bring the family to see the Big Man himself!
Fore more information, please click HERE.
(Reminder) Winter Is Here!
As the weather begins to change, please remind your children that their clothes need to change as well. Coats, shoes, hats, gloves, etc. may be needed sooner rather than later.
If you need assistance in providing any type of clothing, please email Dr. Fuller at pfuller@jgsc.k12.in.us
Similarly, as the rain (and God forbid snow) begins to fall, please remember to keep it slow in the parking lot, both in the morning and afternoon. We have a lot of very excited kids eager to both come to school and go home from school, and we want to make sure we are keeping them as safe as possible.
(REMINDER) PTA- SPONSOR A DAY!
Firstly, if you are interested in joining the WES PTA, please click HERE for the information form.
New This Year: Sponsor-a-Day! If you would like to sponsor a day at Walkerton Elementary School, please click HERE for more information. The way it works is that each day of the school year, you can be a sponsor (1 Day = $1, Day 46 = $46, etc.). Each week, we will shout out those who have sponsored, with all of the proceeds going to our WES PTA to help fund all of the wonderful events they host throughout the year!

Construction at WES!
You may have heard that WES is going to have some construction happening this year, and that is indeed correct!
WES is looking to improve various areas of our building, starting with new heating and cooling systems in our classrooms! Construction will not happen before the first day of school, but will happen throughout the upcoming school year.
But don't worry! Classrooms will be moved around so that there will be no students or staff in classrooms where work is being done.
JGSC is finalizing the construction bidding process, and once that happens, I will be able to provide more details on (1) when construction will start and (2) what rooms will be affected during certain times.
More details coming soon!

Dr. Fuller's Thoughts!
Partner Work...we remember that in school, right?
Sometimes your partners were chosen for you...other times you got to pick your partner, aka your best friend :)
We all thought it was so unfair not to be able to pick our best friend, or maybe you were that person who liked going solo, and didn't want or need a partner.
If we look back on those moments, we probably got a lot more done when our partners were chosen for us.
Now that we're grown, we realize how important partner work truly is...
..except now, instead of creating a popsicle bridge or isolating the variable, we are raising our kids, working one or more jobs, or trying to get to the gas station before we hit 'E'.
We realize now more than ever how critical it is to have a partner to navigate through all of those moments.
Someone you can be honest with, trust, and know that they have your best interest in mind.
Without a partner to share the highs (and lows) of life, the excitement of overcoming obstacles wouldn't taste so sweet.
Here at WES, we LOVE being partners...partners with our kids, our staff, and with YOU!
Life has a tendency to throw you curveballs, no doubt about it...
...but having a partner, and hopefully one day a TEAM, is so vital to any success.
This weekend, I challenge you to let whoever your partner is know how much you appreciate them.
Happy Weekend, WES!
